ABOUT ME
My love of dogs goes back as far as I can remember. I have a picture of me at the age of 3 with a little dog in the background. It seems we always had a dog but never kept them too long....we were always moving and they were always given away to some "loving family". My heart was broken each time this happened, and I vowed that when I grew up I would have my very own dog and would never give it up. Another dream I had was to become a Veterinarian. That dream was never fulfilled due to marriage, children (neither do I regret) and a 37-year unsatisfying banking career. However, the vow I made as a child was fulfilled. Over the years I have raised and trained three of my very own dogs, never giving up any of them. Sadly though, all three have passed. The third one, Valentine, crossed over the Rainbow Bridge 1-7-15 at the age of 15. She was a Norwegian Elkhound. My newest family members came to me in June, 2012. They are a father and son pair that were 4 and 3 years old at the time. We rescued them from a foreclosed home in Temecula. I began by fostering them, then fell in love with them, then decided to adopt them. They were not obedience trained or housebroken, but they are now! The son, Yogi, became a certified Canine Good Citizen in December, 2012 and went on to become a certified Therapy Dog in February, 2013. Odie, the papa, completed two Nose Work courses April, 2013.
My tag line is "I train dogs AND people". I offer in-home private lessons that include obedience training, behavior modification, problem solving, and housebreaking. I also provide CGC training and evaluations. My shelter experience has given me the opportunity to work with all breeds; all sizes, ages, temperaments, and all levels of social and obedience skills. There is not a breed that I will not work with. My previous banking experience (37 years) has given me the experience of working with, teaching, and managing people. I bring the two experiences together to build long lasting and loving companionships between animal and human.
This is my pack: Valentine (13), Odie (4), and Yogi (3). Click on the first picture for a slide show and captions.
